We're Fundraising for an Autism on the Seas Cruise
My name is Tonya and I have two sons, Chad and Colt. Chad has autism and I recently saw that now there is a cruise designed to accommadate children and adults with disabilites. Which is beyond awesome, We have never been on a vacation before and I would love to take my sons, but financially it has not been possible. It would mean so much to me to be able to do this for my boys, also the fact that the cruise line has people to help me is unbelievable. Its designed to attend to all of Chad's needs. The cruise I would like to take them on is in Sept 2017. A disney cruise which Chad dearly loves. He will go banana's seeing all of the characters. Chad is 25 and he is high functioning, he can say his wants and needs but cannot hold a complete conversation, and cannot be left unattended. He is a very happy young man and extremely loving. To see all the disney characters will be very exciting to him. He started getting his feelings and emotions out through disney movies, when he was little. So disney has helped him over the years. In fact he still watches disney movies every night. This would mean so much for us to experience something we've never done before, as a family, with other families like ours, who have family members with disabilities. My Son Colt and I would love to experience a cruise as well. We would greatly appreciate any help to make this dream a reality. Thank you in advance.
Autism on the Seas is a non-profit company that allows families like ours to experience a vacation that at one time we would have imagined to be impossible. They arrange specific special needs accommodations with the cruise lines and they provide professionally qualified staff to assist us with expedited port check-in, meal assistance, pool time supervision, beach excursions, respite (time for [insert family member name with autism] to be well cared for while the rest of the family can do other things), and many other perks and assistance. Autism on the Seas also provides pre-cruise professional consultation and valuable resources, including connecting with other families for support.
