Declan’s Dreamers Go On a Big Boat!

Duplication15q Syndrome and Autism level 3. A heart defect that needed open heart surgery. Countless appointments and endless worries. Our sweet Declan is a happy, energetic 3 year old with so much LOVE. His siblings Finn 8 and Kaelyn 7 have had to place their lives on the back burner for 3 years while we kept Declan healthy and followed his journey to diagnosis. We haven’t had a vacation since 2017. Declan has never been on a vacation. Then we found Autism on the Seas. Declan is a big safety risk and needs watched 100% of the time. But this program will offer us a much needed vacation and respite. And will have the staff to care for and understand our son. We are hoping to reconnect and revive!

Autism on the Seas is a non-profit company that allows families like ours to experience a vacation that at one time we would have imagined to be impossible. They arrange specific special needs accommodations with the cruise lines and they provide professionally qualified staff to assist us with expedited port check-in, meal assistance, pool time supervision, beach excursions, respite (time for [insert family member name with special needs] to be well cared for while the rest of the family can do other things), and many other perks and assistance. Autism on the Seas also provides pre-cruise professional consultation and valuable resources, including connecting with other families for support.
