Dumas Family Cruise

We have not ever been on a vacation together as a family ever because we have struggled financially. About 2 years ago my husband lost his job during covid and being late to many times because we struggled with ways of transportation and we were trying to get our son Caleb some therapy help. We have had a hard time with some of our family members and grandparents to help us in any kind of way or wanting a relationship with us and dealt with problem after problem. We received an eviction for not paying our rent on time and they wouldnt accept partial payments from us. Ever since the eviction we have been living in a hotel hopping from room to room because no one would let us move in with it on our record. With paying almost close to 1,000 a week in a hotel working as much as we can to have a place over our head we couldnt get back ahead on paying our debt off because we were paying so much to survive. We finally was able to move in with other family to try to get back on our feet again and Caleb is finally getting some help he needs. Caleb Dumas has blessed us with so many wonderful moments but has changed the way we are able to approach events that others are able to do on a regular basis. Autism affects us as a family mentally, physically, emotional and financially. It has been hard for both my husband and I to both work full time jobs because we have very few people in our lives including family and ones that we do have will not help with watching Caleb long enough for us to grab something from the grocery store. We haven’t had any true vacation time ever. Ever since my husband and I have had him we haven't been able to go out and do anything fun because we are constantly stressed out about finding a place to stay. We are thankful that we have that now. We would appreciate any donations from anyone that could help our family have fun again. I know both of our kids definitely deserve it, With having an autistic child routine is everything and we haven't been able to stick with a regular schedule because of everything that has happened. It would be nice for us to all have a stress free vacation for once. This would be the best thing that would ever happen for both of our kids considering what they have been through.

Autism on the Seas is a non-profit company that allows families like ours to experience a vacation that at one time we all thought was impossible. We would be so thankful for any kind of donation towards making it happen for both our son and daughter. I want to make this happen for them because they have been amazing kids for what their circumstances have been and how family or friends hasn't been apart much of it. I honestly feel uncomfortable asking for donations especially for something like this because everyone is all going through some hard times so i am thankful for anything i am given but I know how desperately we all need this. I am thankful that Autism on the Seas is actually making this happen for other families as well and this would be the happiest thing in our life to ever happen.
