Isaac is a wonderful boy with a beautiful smile and a heart of gold. Every day he suffers from health-related challenges Autism/Aspergers/ADHD/Developmental Delays that limit his ability to be like other children his age, but he is determined to overcome all obstacles. Isaac's four other siblings and his parents try to keep a daily routine for Isaac and give him all the extra love and attention that we can. He is full of energy and constantly ready to go on adventures, and never forgets a face, place, or a memory. Isaac is our blessing and autism is just another word to us, it does not define who Isaac is or what he is capable of accomplishing in life. Realistically, autism affects every part of Isaac's day, and looking in from the outside someone may not understand his disabilities because they have never lived with or cared for someone with similar disabilities. Living with autism is not easy on the child nor the caregiver, but Isaac has taught us all to love harder, be gracious, patient, and more forgiving. Going out in the public can be difficult for him and us as a family of 7, but we are blessed with each new day and these moments that we can spend together.
We are on a limited income and trying to raise money to make Isaac's first ever cruise happen. We are looking forward to going on a cruise where they can help meet Isaac's autism related needs. Autism on the Seas is a non-profit company that will arrange specific special needs accommodations with the cruise lines, and they provide professionally qualified staff to assist us with expedited port check-in, meal assistance, pool time supervision, beach excursions, respite (time for Isaac to be well cared for while the rest of the family can do other things), and many other perks and assistance. Autism on the Seas also provides pre-cruise professional consultation and valuable resources, including connecting with other families for support. Thanks so much for reading this and donating to Isaac's Cruise! Our family sincerely appreciates your kindness.
