A vacation for Jenson and his family!

For those that know Jenson and our family, you know that we live every day with the direct effects of autism. The challenges are great and require a constant commitment from each family member. We have really great days, and some not so great days that can leave everyone drained and often heart broken. Our sweet Jenson has blessed us with so many wonderful memories! I thank God for the honor He has given to me in taking care of Jenson and helping him grow and learn. But living with the daily challenges of Autism has changed the way we are able to approach events that others are able to do on a regular basis and probably take for granted. Autism affects us ALL mentally, physically, emotional and financially. We have not ever had a true family vacation.

Autism on the Seas is a non-profit company that allows families like ours to experience a vacation that at one time we would have imagined to be impossible! They arrange specific special needs accommodations with the cruise lines and they provide professionally qualified staff to assist us with expedited port check-in, meal assistance, pool time supervision, beach excursions, respite (time for Jenson to be well cared for while the rest of the family can do other things), and many other perks and assistance. Autism on the Seas also provides pre-cruise professional consultation and valuable resources, including connecting with other families for support.

I have never asked anyone for financial help and hesitated to do so now. But our family needs this break and extra help Autism on the Seas provides so badly. I am asking family and friends, friends of friends and really anyone who has it placed on their hearts to help us reach our financial goal to be able to go on a cruise with Autism on the Seas staff in November. Being able to do this honestly sounds like a impossible dream but I am stepping out in faith & believing that we can make it happen! Thank you to anyone who considers helping us out.
